Who is Mikhail B. Khodorkovsky?
MBK is a Russian businessman currently residing in pre-trial detention awaiting the out-come of his trial for fraud and tax evasion. Officially the wealthiest man in Russia (and 16th in the world), he fell foul of the Kremlin when he supported opposition political parties. This case is judged by all as a political show-trial with a predetermined outcome with the double objectives being: to ruin MBK and to silence dissent from other wealthy businessmen.

Why was the Mikhail Khodorkovsky Society started?
The Society was started, initially as an email list-serve on Yahoo Groups to draw like-minded people together in protest at the arrest and detention of MBK, and to act as a source of information for people who may be interested in finding out more behind the headlines. It is now updated on a day-to-day basis and seeks to provide collated information for your convenience whilst also providing a forum for people to express their thoughts, opinions and feedback. MBKSociety seeks to become a truly public forum and welcomes all input from the people who read it.
